Construction: All our caps are constructed using stainless steel fasteners.
Materials: Our quality post caps are made from the best grade of clear, all heart, vertical-grain redwood or western red cedar.

Red Cedar is native to the northwestern United States and southwestern Canada, from southern Alaska and British Columbia south to northwest California and inland to western Montana. The soft red-brown timber is valued for its resistance to decay, being extensively used for outdoor construction in the form of posts, decking, shingles, siding, and so forth. The bark is easily removed from live trees in long strips, and is harvested for use in making mats, rope and cordage, basketry, rain hats, clothing, and other soft goods. Because of these and other attributes, we feel this choice of wood is ideal for a top quality product and thus believe it is worth the extra cost.
Installation: For a nail-free look, simply apply an exterior marine adhesive (we recommend 3M 5200) to the top of the post, slip the post cap over, straighten and walk away! Stainless steel finish nails may be used as an alternative, but are not necessary.
POST TOP CARE AND INSTALLATION
PREPARATION: All Post Caps should be sealed BEFORE installation with an oil base primer, paint, stain or preservative to ensure long life.
Post caps are warranted against all defects for a period of 90 days.
